Do you wish that cats could speak? They can, and it’s done with their bodies. By looking closely at your cat and body language she displays, you can read the clues they provide about her mind and wishes.

A cat’s ears are not just used for hearing. They tell us how a cat feels about things and give us clues about her intentions. Ears that are pricked up say that something out there just got her attention. Flattened ears which are pulled back sharply say that she’s feeling hostile.

A cat’s eyes will dilate when he is excited or even scared. His whiskers do more than determine whether he can fit through an opening; they will move forward when he’s happy and curious. And there are glands around his nose and cheeks that secrete oils. You might think he’s rubbing his head against you because he likes you, but he’s really marking his territory with his scent.

He likes you if he gives you a head butt, a gentle bump of his head. This is a commonly seen signal of affection given by cats.

The best way to read a cat’s mind, however, is by just watching his tail. A tail with a slow side to side motion means that the cat is fully engaged and is curious about his surroundings. Should that tail begin to lash around, however, then look out. He is in a bad mood. If his hair starts to stand up while he lashes his tail, then it’s possible that you are about to be attacked.

A twitching tail tip could mean he’s just seen something he wants to check out, or it might mean he’s preparing to charge. Quivering at the base usually means he’s about to mark his territory by spraying it, though if they do it while getting petted then it means that they really like you.

Felines speak to us all the time. By closely monitoring your cat and body language she gives off, you can read her mind, know her desires and understand her feelings.

Our cat pagoda houses are really cool. The cat condos are another thing you need to look into for your feline friend – they are definitely comfortable.
